  It's the newest family tradition in Palm Bay. Bring your family out for breakfast. So family friendly they have toys and stuff for kids to play with while your family is waiting for food.
  
  Located in Bayside lakes in the corner unit where nothing seems to stay open for long. I've been thinking this unit was haunted by the ghost of business failure. But it appears after burning some sage this tradition has been broken. They appear to keep very busy which should be a big help.
  
  The restaurant was clean inside and has a feel of a small town dinner like the other two, in the area expect way closer. The service was good, friendly and actually fast.
  
  The food: The food was good but just didn't stand out. It's a family tradition because it's the same kind of food your mom would make for family breakfast. It's basic but acceptable with nothing much to complain about. I may stop back in sometime as it's close to my home.

  Food was so so. Could have been better. Philly cheese steak was shaved roast beef heated up.
  Waitress was very friendly.
  Maybe we'll try breakfast.

  I personally love to eat at mom-and-pop brunch places as the food they usually serve taste like what the general mom and pop makes at home. Either it be breakfast or lunch, you can usually "taste the love and passion" they put into their cooking. Of course there are disappointing exceptions (like Old Village Restaurant on Sarno Rd. for example), but overall they are good.
  
  What I love about Family Tradition Cafe (which I will shorthand to "FT Cafe" for the rest of the review) is the fact it is one (out of two I know) mom and pop brunch restaurants located in Bayside Lakes (along with Bayside Bagels). I kept on passing by the place as it is near where I live. I finally took the time to stop in after one of my long shifts at work. I have to say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made pertaining to my quest to review all businesses here on Yelp. :D
  
  FT Cafe is located in a small shopping strip consisting of a martial arts dojo and a Space Coast Credit Union branch on Bayside Lakes Blvd. If it helps, it is in between 7-Eleven and a vet place. Upon enterting, you'll notice that the decor is very simplistic. The tables and chairs are the cheap kind and the walls are decorated with canvases of positive affirmations. It is at least comfy and clean. There is also a television airing the news just in case you want to get your dose of what's going on in either your city, state, or country at the time too.
  
  What stands out was the interpersonal staff and delicious food. The ladies who served me were very nice. We even struck up nice conversations too. As for the food, it was definitely prepared and cooked with care. I ordered a double serving of biscuits and gravy with eggs and sausage patties. They were delicious. And for the price, it was a lot of food compared to other mom-and-pop brunch restaurants.
  
  Ultimately, I cannot say anything real negative about FT Cafe. Great place, great people, great food. I will be honest and say I have eated at other places that were just as good so they get four out of five stars for the time being. They will earn their fifth star over time if they are consistent.

  Attentive service in a friendly clean environment. but as for the food goes this must be hillbilly Paradise. low-grade food executed in a low-grade way. two scrambled eggs came out as a solid blob and my home fries were deep-fried squared potatoes. low-grade bacon cooked way too far in advance flat as a pancake resembling beef jerky. I substituted an English muffin, which was definitely a generic brand, no nooks and crannies here flat as a pancake sliced in half with a knife and loaded with margarine! Who eats margarine anymore? Not even a butter blender high-quality margarine the cheapest they can find.

  Family Tradition Cafe - Bayside Lakes - 4 Stars

  Sysco is like a gabelle on the food industry, having become a necessary evil that has monopolized restaurants nationwide.  Sadly, because of Florida's strict farm-to-table laws and an inability to source dynamic ingredients locally, it is the only game in town with only a few smaller competitors. But despite that Goliath battle, guess what? Family Tradition Cafe is the David that has been able to rise above the moldering fray of also-rans and managed to put together an array of flavorful enjoyable comfort food items with the greatest of ease.
  
  Family Tradition clearly cares about what they serve. My server was Kim, and she was very knowledgeable about the menu offerings. They offer a few traditional specials that rotate on a daily basis. I ordered Country Fried Steak and Eggs that was offered that day. It was served in a very pedestrian manner and you know what? - I'm fine with that. I am okay with it because the grub was executed flawlessly. The potatoes were cooked perfectly, the eggs were fried to perfection. The steak was nothing beyond the standard everyone expects to be served, but again, the execution was there. I also ordered a Sloppy Joe and a 1/3 pound burger to go. Like the breakfast, these lunch items were seething with flavor and good stuff that you would expect from a family-style restaurant. The real test of a restaurant is consistency, so I came back here two months later to see how they handled the challenge. I ordered the same breakfast except I exchanged the country fried steak out for the smoked sausage. The meal was cooked in the exact same manner with the exact same brilliant skills - they passed the test with flying colors.
  
  There is nothing gourmet here, nothing special. Just a good ole' basic meal prepared flawlessly. Big Boy says give it a go, because it doesn't have to be fancy to be fantastic.
